A couple of guys named Dustin and Paul met a few years ago via heavy lifting. Dustin hated Paul’s evil strongman implements and Paul said Dustin was a ginger with no soul. Despite these differences they had one big thing in common; they both had autistic children in their lives.
In 2016, Dustin said to Paul, “Hey you dumb jerk, why don’t we put on a charity meet for autism?” Paul replied, “Good idea, you big dork” and thus Strength for Autism was born.
This year’s Strength for Autism was held on April 7th, 2018, at the South Strabane Fire Hall in Washington, PA. The Truck Pull may have been the most difficult event of the day, as it was more for distance than completion time. Check out the results here (provided by Strongman Corporation, Inc.)!
All funds raised from the event go toward autism awareness and research, and to provide much needed autism-specific supplies for Washington Park Elementary.
Aaron Demchak, Transportation Driver for Ritchey Metals, volunteered his time and took his tractor down to let the competitors take turn pulling it for distance.
